Halloween

Apparently my local supermarket doesn't believe in either Halloween or selling pumpkins that aren't pre-cut into portions, so this year I reverted to the far older British tradition of carving turnips to create lanterns to ward off the bad ghosts.

Turnips are much easier to carve and have a lovely luminosity when you hollow them out enough.

The Meaning of It
Yes, it seems many people around the world have actually forgotten, or don't know at all, the real meaning behind Halloween. Well done to use turnips, even I didn't think of that.

Cheers FeatherRyder, I can't remember where I learnt about the turnips originally but it was a useful thing to remember when I was left pumpkin-less in the supermarket.
