Podlove is a new initiative developed and funded by the AFC and SBSi. Its aim is to explore the impact of digital communications on our relationships with friends, family, lovers and strangers.

The five best documentaries (of five minutes each) will be broadcast on SBS Television. Being pod-films, they will also be pod-cast on a new interactive website.

Digital technology means no limits so live action, animation, composite imagery, visual and aural processing, and archival can be sourced for your five-minute short film.

I ran a workshop at Taroona High, here in sunny Hobart, on Tuesday (15th Nov) for the grade 7 Extended Learning class.

The kids were great, they asked good questions like how copyright works, and how to sequence the pages correctly so that when they are folded together everything runs in the right order.

We started off with exercises in observation of facial expressions and body language and in the mid afternoon we did a narrative corpse comics jam.

On top of this one boy made his own book titled "The Blobber" inspired by a comic made by my friends Sarah and Izzy.

I will be putting the book of the class' work together next week and it will be on display as part of an exhibition at the end of the school term.
